President Bush's Speech About Iraq
President Bush spoke to the nation about the accomplishments in Iraq and how the AlQeada terrorists responsible for 9-11 attack on America would not be allowed to win in Iraq on his watch.
Bush spoke optimistically about the ultimate result of a free Iraqi nation and the defeat of the terrorists whom weren't able to stop the turn over of Iraq to an Iraqi government and elections. Bush said the terrorists haven't been able to stop progress and will fail. He again said the work is hard and would take time as he said from the days just after 9-11.
Although AlQeada terrorists in Iraq kill by suicide bombs and other terrorist actions like blowing up women and children; the liberals and Democrats complained that Bush stated the obvious, that the fight in Iraq is against the AlQeada terrorists. Saddam is in jail with little support left. Most terrorists are AlQeada recruits from other countries and they are killing many Iraqis. Few Iraqis support the terrorists. Iraqis by the thousands are joining the police and military to fight along with US forces against the terrorists.

Even if you're not a fan of al-Qaeda's methods, you have to concede the fantastic success of their 2001 operation. A modest investment of a few box cutters and airline tickets has galvanized support for militant Islam and other anti-American sentiment all over the world as the United States launched into a bizarre imperialist rampage.
Immigration laws meant to "turn away terrorists" instead turned away the best scientists and engineers from all over the world who wanted to contribute to the US economy. These people are now contributing to the growing Chinese, Indian, and Iranian economies. Some economists believe the damage to American jobs and the economy is irrepairable. As a result, the American economy is essentially driven by the real estate bubble and the government funded military-industrial complex. Corporations are left with two choices: live off the US government or pursue markets overseas (bringing jobs with them). The tremendous deficits that finance the corporate welfare further drive down the value of the US dollar and eventually with it demand for US goods and services.
Faced with this unpleasantness, the administration cleverly found a way to distract the attention of constituents: perpetual war! The president's "pre-emptive war" doctrine effectively permits him to invade any country at any time for no reason. This has the side effect of keeping the government funded military-industrial complex busy. But as we know from the Soviet Union, this arrangement can only last so long.
But the United States does not exist in a vacuum. The rest of the world quickly realizes that the America after 9/11 has little interest in freedom and democracy elsewhere in the world (after all, why would it prop up the dictatorships of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait?) or even at home (PATRIOT Act, Eldred v Ashcroft, proprietary voting machines). With this in mind, it is not hard to understand why many people are willing to sacrifice their lives to continue to fight American occupation forces and their perceived puppets. Some Americans might be happy if North Korean and Iranian soldiers invaded America, imprisoned all liberals, and rewrote the Constitution to permit George W. Bush to stay in office as long as he liked. Some Americans would prefer to do that by themselves.
Most Americans believe we should clean up our own mess. We should continue to support the occupation forces and fight the patriotic resistance that we created. At least a little while longer. Perhaps we can extricate ourselves from our grave blunder and leave a politically stable Iraq. However, if the United States continues to find victory evasive, we should carefully consider the lessons from this bitter episode as we withdraw our defeated occupation forces.

And maybe it's a question if you are a fan of their methods?
You are clearly a hater of America. The American forces are winning and not "defeated". The terrorists have gotten desperate attacking Iraqis including women and children. The terrorists are getting their butts kicked by the over powering US forces and you call that US forces defeated. You only hoped the USA would lose because you are hater of freedom, liberty and America. Iraq has an elected government therefore we are not occupying Iraq. Yet you use the lies of Anti-American haters calling it an occupation. The US economy is the strongest in the industrialized world yet you claim it's not good. Again you use the lies and an Anti-American hater. You only wish the American economy wasn't good. Leftists like yourself expose your hate for America, liberty and freedom.

I don't agree with their methods but I have to concede their astonishing effectiveness.
You are clearly a hater of America.
Not sure where you get that idea. I love the America that stands for freedom, prosperity, and innovation. I hate the America that imposes imperialism, unilateralism, and ignorance.
The terrorists are getting their butts kicked by the over powering US forces...
Isn't that what they said about the Viet Cong? Hopefully the result this time will be different.
...and you call that US forces defeated. You only hoped the USA would lose because you are hater of freedom, liberty and America.
Please quote the sentence where i "hope the USA would lose".
Iraq has an elected government therefore we are not occupying Iraq.
If we aren't occupying Iraq, then why don't we withdraw our forces tomorrow? I'm sure we could use some of them in the Korean penninsula. Many are probably quite homesick.
The US economy is the strongest in the industrialized world yet you claim it's not good.
The USA currently has the largest economy in the world. This won't last very long unless we change policy. We have too many citizens who's labor are no longer cost competitive with the rest of the world (especially since we deported so many bright entrepreneurs, scientists, and engineers). We should strive to improve our economy by encouraging innovation and growth. The government needs to get out of the business of keeping uncompetitive companies alive. It does nothing for employees (they're still unemployable) and the deficit-ballooning expenditures torpedo the value of our savings and bleed away the ability to invest in legitimate government expenditures (police, firefighters, faa, etc). These non-market economic policies are exactly what caused the Soviet Union to collapse.
Again you use the lies and an Anti-American hater. You only wish the American economy wasn't good. Leftists like yourself expose your hate for America, liberty and freedom.
Feel free to point out my "lies". Until then, you will continue to sound like nothing more than a mouthpiece of the Straussian propoganda apparatus.

The liberal says, "Feel free to point out my "lies". Here is two of liberal upyorz's lies. The liberal says, "our defeated occupation forces". That's two lies in one line. The Iraqis have their own elected government therefore they are not occupied by our forces and defeating terrorists as we are is not being "defeated". Two lies by liberal upyorz in just one line.

Mmm, I checked upyorz's original post...
Perhaps we can extricate ourselves from our grave blunder and leave a politically stable Iraq. However, if the United States continues to find victory evasive, we should carefully consider the lessons from this bitter episode as we withdraw our defeated occupation forces.
The statement about us being defeated looks like it is taken out of context. The sentence begins with "If the United States continues to find victory elusive..."
If Iraq is not being occupied by US troops, then why do we still occupy several military bases from which troops routinely engage in actions enforcing administration policy?
C'mon tomg, you can do better. I'm sure you mean well but this stuff is sophomoric and makes us conservatives look bad.
